There are standard FW400F to FW800M adapters on ebay for around $5 which will allow you to use the Mac's FW800 port if it is so equipped. FireWire is being phased out in light of Thunderbolt's popularity and speed, as well as Apple seems to be standardizing around Thunderbolt because it allows for video control and monitor engagement, as well as data transfer. Currently there are many TB->FW cable harness adapters, as well as USB3.0, DVI-in, VGA and others.

Ive found several Thunderbolt hubs, but they are not inexpensive.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a differrent result. Taking the same shot, w/the same exposure and expecting greatness- Hasn't happened for ME, yet... How about you?
