Totaly agree. 1.2X crop mode on D800/E is great for telephoto lenses. 25MP at 5fps is very useful. It's a pity it doesn't make 6fps with a grip in 1.2x mode.

Turn off AF-point-illumination, and the area outside the 1.2x crop area would grey out. If you use VF virtual horizon, the bars in the VF for virtual horizon would be displayed very nicely in the greyed-out area and very visible.
