24-120 mm f4 soft left edge problem

I have noticed that the left edge of my 24-120 is noticely soft or blury on the left edge into about 25% of the frame at every focal length checked on my 2 D800s.  Is this normal with this lens?

I am beginning to think I should sell it and start looking for a better copy but don't want to waste my time if the problem is inherent in this lens.  The center is very sharp and the problem is almost non existent on the right edge of the lens.

Also, is this a problem that could possibly be fixed by Nikon?
