Canon is pulling a Nikon on it's customers
Nov 1, 2012

i don't know if you people have seen it but the 5Diii was selling for under 3K this week until that's a difference of over $500 difference as launch price was basically 3.5K

Now canon is forcing the retailers to sell at MAP advertised prices the same stunt that Nikon pulled earlier in the year

What this results in is higher profits for each individual camera. You may sell less cameras but a lot of people want to change cameras hence they keep the premium on.Hence more money for them

and in the case of Nikon means more profits overall as i saw on bythom this morning.

i wish they would all cut this out as it may benefit them but it's no benefit to us as we could have gotten the D800 for (if $500 off also like canon) $$2400, the D600 would have fallen by now to maybe $1,900 the price we want it at

Canon EOS 5D Mark III Nikon D600 Nikon D800
