Considering A99? One week by a non-pro, jpeg only (Part 2) - AF Speed

  1. AF-D is useful for my CZ 24-70 and Sony 70-400. It improves a little but definitely not great. Using it in zonal selection (eg one of the 3 zones) is better. Helps a bit only in multiple.
  2. AF-D does not work with Minolta 70-200/2.8 SSM. It should work with the new Sony's.
  3. Focus range selector is extremely useful. It turns hunting lens into a great one -- this alone worths a lot of money. It's in-built, not lens linked, like in-camera anti-shake, well done Sony.
  4. Those who shoot using Multiple focusing points _ Continuous focsuing mode, be prepared that it is not yet a Nikon or Canon though good enough.
  5. Focusing speed and accuracy is no better than A77 though A77 is not un-satisfactory. Of course, much better than A900
