Weather sealing? Why
In reply to Adamant, 6 months ago

Unless shooting in snowfall, I wonder why weather sealing is an issue.

Even in my weather sealed cam, if I suddenly go from Warm humid to cold humid, I get condensation. You cannot avoid it.

However, when its dry, low temperatures are not an issue. Have seen upto -10, and the only issue is battery life.

I would recommend taking an extra battery. Since NEX 7 has a wall charger, you can charge it while using other battery.

Unless you plan to take more than 40-50 long exposures, in a single session, 2 batteries will work just fine.

With all due respect to Sony, I wouldn't choose a NEX for a trip like that. The cameras are not marketed as being weather sealed. Something like a Pentax K30 is around the same price and is much more rugged.
