Hey Bob --

I haven't played with the flash much yet.

Flash was my main reason for going to Nikon, though nowadays I tend to avoid it as much as possible (no more event photography).

I took a few quick shots tonight (with the 540) and it seems to be fine. On the *istDS and the K10D, I used to have problems if there was any sort of shiny object in the shot (it would shut the flash down early making the pic dark). When I took some shots of the stove, no problems. Obviously, far from a scientific test.

Also, I hooked it up to the Alien Bees light at work and it worked great.

I'll report any interesting findings as I use the flash a bit more.
