I can confirm that the Eye-Fi (Class 6) card works with D600 in Direct Mode. I have sent Jpgs and MOVs from my D600 to Nexus 7, Sony xperia ion phone, and Ipad 3. Thank god I don't have to use Itunes to move the MOV files from D600 to Ipad. Now it goes directly to the Ipad 3.

You don't need the router. In Direct Mode, the Eye-Fi card acts as a router and in your mobile device settings, you just need to select the Eye-Fi card as the access point just like your wifi network and you are good to go. Remember if there are no activity, it will switch back a working access point mostly likely your home network wifi access point if you are at home. If that is the case, go back to the setting menu and connect to the Eye-fi card access point.

Also works on my Nikon 1 J1 as well.

WARNING: For some reason, when I transfer MOV files, the D600 gets a little warm near the grip. Jpgs transfer does not generate heat. Or maybe it's my D600.

Hope that helps someone.
