Question: Nikon 50mm 1.8 with D800e & water resistance?

I have the two of them and prefer the G version quality wise ! It even can take good pictures at f/1.8 while the D version wasn't so good full open !

The AF-S is silent (a relief ) but with high end cameras the AF of the D can seem a bit quicker (more robust screwdriving motors), though the G isn't a slouch!
