In the UK Olympus is not worried about who originally purchased the camera. I bought a 2nd hand E-PL1 and the flash gave out. The seller (the original purchaser) had lost the receipt but knew where and when he bought it. Olympus UK contacted the UK retailer, faxed the copied warranty card I'd emailed them to the retailer who stamped it with their dealer stamp and dated it back to the purchase date then faxed the card back to Olympus UK who emailed it back to me, telling me I could now send in the camera for warranty repair. I sent it in with the faxed copy warranty card and it came back repaired as promised FOC. Now THAT is what I call service!
