Looks like E-PL5 still has only electronic IS in movie mode
Oct 30, 2012

The E-P cameras in the past have only employed electronic IS when in movie mode, which causes adverse effects when panning or filming moving subjects.

It looks like this is the same situation with the E-PL5. Here's a quote from the manual:

• If [Image Stabilizer] is activated while recording a movie, the recorded image is enlarged
slightly.

This wouldn't be the case if they were using sensor shift stabilization so it looks like it's still electronic.
