There is no manufacturer that furnishes all their lenses with the same diameter threads. Lens sizes are just too different.
yes and no..
i have a large set of canon L (i mainly use canon for my assignements) and 77mm is almost a standard, using 82mm for the newer lenses..
i have a 77 and a 82mm B&W polarizer and i can cover almost all my canon lenses.
You have three options: (a) get filters for each thread size you have; (b) decide on the largest thread size you can imagine using, get filters for that, and use step-up rings to make smaller lenses work with the larger filters. (c) settle on two or three main sizes, get filters for those, and use step-up rings to make smaller lenses work
yes but an adapted 58mm lens can fit a 35mm (with a step-up 58-52) inside the lens hood?
and for the 60mm?
I would try to define what it is exactly that you want to do with filters, get the 14mm and then experimentally determine what filter size you need. With such a wide lens the filters presumably will have to be quite large.
i just need a pola..
i already have a good 58mm polarizer but i am waiting fot 14mm to be sure it dosn't vignette on this focal length.
