To Repair or Not to Repair?

I agree with the dessicant... although I have recommended rice in the past... lots of people have brought there cell phojne back from a plunge in the toilet using rice... I have an air tight , water proof and fire proof safe... I keep all of my camera gear in it... when I bought the safe I bought rechargeable desicant canisters from Amazon... they change color when they are moisture packed.. you then put them in a toaster oven for a few hours @ 200 F and the color changes back.. they are innexpensice.. I use them in my camera safe and in my two gun safes.. they seem to last about a month... IM not exactly sure why they recommend that I leave the safes open for a few hours once a month , but I think this would help to introduce more mosture into the safes... the desicant does work... I think it might be possible to use a warm hair dryer also to speed up the drying process.. Just some suggestions .. the desicant will indeed suck the moisture out of the gear.
