Ive just got the 100 f2 lens and i love it, but i do miss IS at the moment.

I had the 85 f/1.8 on my 40D and 60D but never really used it much. Ive really been more in to zooms until recently when i got a 5DMKIII. Since then im finding primes a joy to use.

Anyway, when i first got my 100 i did find it a bit strange seeing the image moving around in the VF. Im so used to IS on my lenses over 50mm (and my old 17-55IS)

I will get used to it and its teaching me to be more careful when i shoot. DOF is so thin im finding i dont actually use it wide open much, unless i need the extra shutter speed. This is actually why i got it, low light walkabout with a bit more reach than my 50 f/1.4

I have just read a post in another thread about this, and the 85 f/1.8 that said they were designed to be slightly soft wide open to help with portraits. Im not sure if this si true or not, but i dont find my copy soft at all.

I went for this over the macro as i wanted a small prime i could put in my pocket so it made perfect sense.
