The article is helpful to you, how to notice some problems, and improve on your shooting. If you do not see problem, it would be a maximal problem with thyself.

In this testing, Nikon d800e mirror locked up, thus the vibration blur was relevant shutter bounce. The shutter bounce blur and the mirror slap blur that are two dissimilar types. The shutter bounce blur is usually a wider angle harm, even if a mirror lockup mode still not avoided the problem. Moreover, a mirrorless camera is likewise cases.

Though Nikon d800 is already the cautious FX 4 fps and DX 5 fps but the vibrations are still some problems (not so much bad despite), especially in a telephoto lens. But whatever the situation, it is a good starting, we expect others to quickly catch up, and is doing better.

Also, we go back to again pay attention to the central shutter system with built-in lens. (a ring blades shutter, none a recoil). Leica S2 is including the central shutter system lens family. Mamiya and Phase One cameras also have dual types of shutter system, the focal plane shutter and the central shutter. The central shutter system can better avoid the shutter bounce vibrations to be helpful to the imaging sharpness.

In historically the Konica Hexar camera is truly an almost Zero vibration. We did not need to wildly want a rangefinder camera, but the central shutter system is quite nice, it can likewise be used in DSLR system, like Leica S2.

Nikon recommended some Nikkor lenses with the d800/d800e, it now makes you understood why it was, all of those are very heavy lenses, without a lighter lens there.

The VR, SR, IS, AS, these are nothing camera's internal vibrations helpful.
The VR, SR, IS, AS, these are merely usable in the hand-on shake.

The recent digital camera is higher pixels, so we get bothering about the camera vibrations. For the higher pixels and the observable image-blurring but we yet are no referable experience. For the recent high-pixels camera and the image resolution, people must pay attention to the tripod and head, to maximize the image quality and sharpness.

Nikon d800e pixel pitch is 4.9μm, Canon EOS 5D Mark III is 6.25μm. If Nikon d800e gets image-blurring 0.5 pixels, but converted to the pixel pitch 6.25μm equals 0.39 pixels, the affected blurring could be reduced. Certainly, the actual cameras have difference in the body and the shutter.

Reader's Remarks,
Other words, Nikon d700 is 8.45μm pixel pitch, body Weight 995g, (heavier 95g than the d800 body). If a same 5 fps, if a same vibrational kinetic energy, the image-blurring could be very little.
On the contrary, in the same pixel density, but with a faster fps and a shorter shutter-lag were based in a lighter weight body, undoubted, that makes it easier to get the vibrations and blurring from a camera itself, like some APS-c cameras, including the mirrorless cameras.

In currently market, these beautifully dressed the alloyed outer wears and the poor plastic built-in bodies are so flashy. These pretended the so-called "a metal body" are actually a truly plastic built-in body, while makes it adversely to the lesser vibrations, also adversely to the sensor's heat dissipation, adversely to the sensor anti-EMI, adversely to the strength safety of a camera body.

G1128 M2 (Strengthened by Umemoto), Weight 1,190g, 4-Section type 1, Height 117cm (non raising the center column), selling in 2005, the strength is comparable to currently Gitzo type 2.
G1543T, Weight 950g, 4-Section type 1, Height 116cm (non raising the center column), the kit GK1580TQR4 tripodal legs equal to currently GT1544T.

Tripod Heads:
SL-60AZD (large), 440g + SG-80 160g = 600g wt.
SL-50AZD (medium), 290g + SG-80 160g = 450g wt.
SL-40AZD (small), 195g + SG-80 160g = 355g wt.

Hanging Extra Mass in Tripods:
All the testing tripods are already hanging with an additional mass on the hook, here is an extra mass wt 5kg for the 70-200mm lens, an extra mass wt 2.5kg for the 24-70mm lens.

The G1228 and the G1128 tripods were strengthened, working by Umemoto.
The testing room is with ferroconcrete ground, no wind around the tripods. All the tripods the center column in a minimal height locked.

The testing shutter speed 1/500sec gradually drops off till 1 sec.
The lens aperture fixed f8, the lighting source is adjustable. The camera ISO could be adjusted, if needed.
The every a shutter speed to shoot ten times to a set of pictures.
The images magnified with 400% on a screen and identification.
In the camera disabled the VR, and the mirror locked upward a shooting, remote device fires camera, the grip accessory was removed, without an external flash.

The measured results
Test 1: Lens 70-200mm + G1228 MK2 (Strengthened) + SL-60AZD, a tripod system weight 2,180g. Extra Mass 5kg.
Shooting with the horizontal position,
From 1/500 sec till 1 sec, all the images are close to circular 9 pixels, thus the image-blurring is almost negligible. But the blur below 0.5 pixels was observed from the vertical direction vibration in 1/30 sec.

Shooting with vertical position,
From 1/500 to 1/125 sec that blur is very little.
In 1/60 sec, the blur 0.5 pixels. (the vibrations direction in vertical-run focal plane shutter) .
In 1/30 -1/15 sec, the blur 0.7 pixels. (vertical-run focal plane shutter).
In 1/8 - 1/2 sec, the blur 1 pixel.
In 1 sec, the blur 1.5 pixels.

Test 2: Lens 70-200mm + G1228 MK2 (Strengthened) + SL-50AZD, a tripod system weight 2,030g. Extra Mass 5kg.
Shooting with the horizontal position,
1/500 - 1/250 sec, the blur is very little.
1/125 - 1/15 sec, the blur about 0.5 pixels along the right diagonal direction.
1/8 - 1 sec, the blur 0.5 pixels.

Shooting with vertical position,
1/500 - 1/250 sec, feeling the slightly soft, maybe the blur less than 0.5 px?
1/125 sec, the blur about 0.5 pixels along the right diagonal direction.
1/60 - 1/30 sec, the blur about 1.0 pixels along the right diagonal direction.
1/15 - 1/4 sec, the blur about 1.0 - 2.0 pixels along the right diagonal direction.
1/2 - 1 sec, the blur about 1.0 - 2.0 pixels.

Test 3: Lens 70-200mm + G1128 MK2 (Strengthened) + SL-60AZD, a tripod system weight 1,790g. Extra Mass 5kg.
Shooting with the horizontal position,
1/500 - 1/250 sec, the blur is still little.
1/125 - 1/15 sec, the imaging good rate is bad, the image-blurring rate up to 50%, the blur is 0.5 - 1.0 pixels along the right diagonal direction.
1/8 - 1 sec, feeling all the images are softened, (sharpness lessened). Also, about 0.5 pixels randomly blurring.

Shooting with vertical position,
1/500 - 1/250 sec, does not much matter.
1/125 - 1/60 sec, the blur images rate 50% about 0.5 pixels. Main blur is direction with vertical-run focal plane shutter
1/30 - 1 sec, the blur about 1.0 - 1.5 pixels.

Reader's Remarks,
In 1/250 - 1/30 sec, the blur related to the shutter bounce vibrations. But 1/60 - 1 sec the blurring aggravated, so a longer exposure time has revealing the activated tripod shaking would increase the negative effects and camera together, but the activation of the tripod shaking came from the shutter bounce vibration.
Fundamentally, the camera body further needed with very much lower of the vibrations in the shutter system, or is even a Zero vibration.
In testing the d800e mirror locked up a shooting, while in the mirror slap blur is mainly harmful on a shutter speed below the 1/50s.

Test 4: Lens 24-70mm + G1128 MK2 (Strengthened) + SL-50AZD, a tripod system weight 1,640g. Extra Mass 2.5kg.
Shooting with the horizontal position,
1/500 - 1/125 sec, the blur is very little.
1/60 - 1 sec, some slightly soft images, but the blur is inconspicuous.
Though the 1/60 - 1 sec here is slightly soft images compared to the 70-200 mm lens, but maybe this difference is in between the lenses.

Shooting with vertical position,
1/500 - 1 sec, some slightly soft images, but the blur is inconspicuous.

Test 5: Lens 24-70mm + G1128 MK2 (Strengthened) + SL-40AZD, a tripod system weight 1,545g. Extra Mass 2.5kg.
Shooting with the horizontal position,
1/500 - 1/125 sec, the blur is very little.
1/60 - 1 sec, some slightly soft images, the blur are below about 0.5 pixels.

Shooting with vertical position,
1/500 - 1/125 sec, the blur is very little.
1/60 - 1/8 sec, some slightly soft images, the blur are below about 0.5 pixels.
1/8 - 1 sec, the blur 0.5 pixels in a frame along all directions.

Test 6: Lens 24-70mm + GT1543T + SL-40AZD, a tripod system weight 1.305g. Extra Mass 2.5kg.
Shooting with the horizontal position,
1/500 - 1/250 sec, the blur is very little.
1/125 - 1/15 sec, a little soft images, the blur are below about 0.5 pixels.
1/8 - 1 sec, the blur is about 0.5 pixels along the right diagonal direction.

Shooting with vertical position,
1/500 - 1/250 sec, the blur is very little.
1/125 - 1/30 sec, a little soft images.
1/15 - 1/8 sec, all the images are about 0.5 pixels randomly blurring, the vibrational blurring back and forth showed in a circular spotted imaging.
1/4 - 1 sec, all the images are about 1.0 pixels randomly blurring.

"In outdoors shooting, with a very heavy tripod becomes much more penance, would no longer be interesting." said by Umemoto.

In this testing, the shooting and preview more than 1,000 images. This is much more time than one month in the arduous working to organize the images and data to bring the valuable harvest for readers.

Reflections,
Miserably, I have been employing the 1.5kg tripods, (tripod + head). I have much tripods, but each weight is less than 1.65 kg. In much more time, people did not use a tripod. You impossible to always use a tripod, besides that, some places also ban a tripod and flash.

Mr. Nikon, to improve your camera, Please.
To take back that your own Nikon nose, do not follow Canon tricks, no blind faster fps, no wildly high ISO, no plastic mirror box in a camera and it pricing US $ 2,000.
