First Owl Picture :)
I like these better. Yes, it's difficult with foggy weather, so I don't think we can find fault with your pictures. Some people photoshop different backgrounds and play around with the image that way for different affects. But that is something I don't care to do...but it can be useful.
I've only had a few times to take pictures of owls, in fact it's so few of times that I remember where they were. Once it was on Vancouver Island. I tried to take the picture of the owl under the dark canopy of trees with my Sony H2 P&S camera. I was able to get a photo of the bird, but the image quality was not good. The other time was in Walla Walla, Washington as I followed an owl in a clump of trees. But branches obscured my view of the owl, so I was unable to get a photo of it with my Olympus E-510 DSLR camera. So saying that, I can appreciate sometimes the difficulty in taking pictures of these owls, particularly in dark conditions. Now, with the Canon T2i (550D) cameras that I'm using, I think I would be better able to get a good photo of them in low light conditions.
