Now may never own a 5D MkIII

Seems rather discriminatory.

B&H doesn't seem to have any problem selling to a shipping address in Mexico or Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, China... But not going to ship to Canada! Its not like a camera purchased in Canada has any different warranty than one purchased in the USA. The warranty cards usually contain USA and Canada on them. What could possibly Canon be thinking?

Canon Canada closed down all the regional service centers so that repairs became much more costly, far less convenient and disappointing to the end user. Keep it up Canon, and one day you'll wonder where all your faithful customers went.
