The real reason for OOC jpeg propaganda from manufacturers is this : the lens hardware quality goes steeply down - all kinds of optical flaws/aberations are not corrected by optical hardware means, but by software tweaks and geaks made in jpeg - it is advantageous for manufacturers, but not for users who must update software with every new model of camera, every new lens. That's why it is more and more difficult to catch pace for PP software to manage every new camera raw. But if manufacturer provides dedicated raw converter then there's no problem to convert it into tiff-16 bit and make quality PP in your favourite software.
