^^ The RX100 had not been released in January - I suspect foodiepics simply did not set the date!
But to the camera and photos - i think foodiepics has made an excellent choice. That camera should be fantastic for the purpose.
I agree with comment above, just bump the exposure a bit so white plates look white. (try half a stop) Maybe use a "vivid" setting if there is one, and an auto dynamic range.
