That's right. 500 mm f/4 + Canon 1.4 TC II combination.

The weather was clear and sunny. I also use 2X TC II frequently.

Watching the pics, and the EXIF data showing 700mm FL, it was easy to see that that was the combo used.

I've been lusting for the 500/4 (version I) for a while and, price aside, what has prevented me from trying to get one is that you can't handhold it (or at least, you can't during the whole day).

So I've got me a 400/4 DO that, while it is a really nice lens to have and easily takes a 1.4x and it is handholdable, I think that it is not as sharp as the 500/4.
