42A Flash for $40 at Fry's

Just picked one up.

I wasn't planning on buying a flash, and I know this unit isn't the greatest, but for $40, it's a steal (original around $250)

I gotta learn how to use it now! Any tips? The auto mode with my 30mm seems not to produce great results. Also, I noticed that the auto-white balance isn't as accurate as it is with the built in flash.
