I am not saying Nikon does this, but if I was Nikon, it would make sense to pay Leonard and a few others to write all those comments. The strategy being to instill doubts in the community for the existence of the left AF issue and to stave off potentially affected units from being discovered or acknowledged by their owners through discrediting their testing methods, or attributing to user error and lack of skill etc... It would be the better short term business strategy versus having to publicly admit there is a problem and own up to the cost of dealing with all the affected units when there is no reliable fix for it yet.
