Abandoned hotel with a77

There is a good book about urban degradation that really captures that strange fascination mingled with melancholy that I think you are talking about. It is called 'the world without us' and details what would happen to buildings, cities etc. if we simply vanished. It isn't a photo book, but it does mention some real abandoned places, one of which much like this hotel, is a whole tourist resort that was built and never opened; it was in Cyprus if I remember correctly. Worth a look if that is your thing.
