A color space is chosen when a raw file is converted to another format such as jpeg or tiff. Any choice you make in the camera when shooting raw is meaningless. The choice that matters is what you specify at the time of the conversion. That can be sRGB, Adobe RGB, Pro Photo RGB, etc.
If the camera lets you choose a color space for raw photos, that doesn't affect the contents of the raw image. It just tags the raw file saying what your preference was. The raw conversion software might have an option to use that tagged preference. But you are still free to choose anything else you wish when converting from raw.

Thanks much !..... Can you understand my confusion? The camera (D600/D90? allows me to chose between Adobe and sRGb...
I've always been annoyed when an application opens one of the two listed above and quickly dulls the color. Without questioning it, I've always moved to the other color space and the problem was fixed. (without questioning it or understanding why).
I hate this ! I want to understand what is going on.........
Is it just me? Am I alone?
