D800 + ... yeah, what?

So after a bit of consideration and in the light of current issues with oil spots on D600, I'm leaning towards getting a D800. However, I did hear that apparently "you must have best quality lenses to get decent pictures from D800".
Now this does sound a bit weird to me, I mean I know the lens quality makes a change, but do I really have to go for £800 24-120mm lens in order to be able to get the best out of D800?
Or would my Nikon AF 24mm f/2.8D, Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G and Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.8G be enough to squeeze some good quality juice from D800?
