I find the NEX the simplest of all cameras to clean because the sensor is so accessible.  Just use a blower first and if that doesn't work use a sensor brush. If there is oil or something like that use a sensor swab. Remember you are just cleaning the glass cover sheet on the sensor. I have used my NEX 7 for a year now and have just used the sensor brush to clean about 20 times.
