Is the 60-250mm redudant if you own the 50-135?
Oct 27, 2012

Hello Everyone,

I had recently posted that my 50-135mm died and I will have to send it in to repair.

I was looking at getting another lens to use in the meantime, not as a replacement per say but as something that would complement the focal length of the 50-135.

I have my kids Christmas concert coming up and I have shot it with the 50-135 in previous years and I do feel the 50-135 is too short. I would also like to use it for a fair amount of portraits, wildlife (backyard safari) etc.

Would the 60-250 be an ok addition? I thought about the Sigma and Tamron 50-200 f2.8 lenses. On the long end taking into account 1.5 multiplier, we have 300 for the Sigma and Tamron and 375 (close enough to 400 for me) from the Pentax.
