Second Monitor Connection

Hello, sorry if this is a done-to-death question, I just need to get other opinions and I can't find what I'm looking for by searching.

Just got a second 24" 1920x1200 monitor. The old HP ZR24w is on the DVI port of an ATI HD 5670 1GB card, and for the moment the new Dell U2412M is on the VGA port.

I'm thinking I'm better off connecting the U2412M to the HDMI port on the existing card, rather than getting a second low-cost card (e.g. 5450), or replacing the card with one with two DVI ports.

Am I on the right track?
