Anyone paid Nikon to fix MF on a 80-200 2.8 AF-D?

Are you referring to the split mf/af ring. I repaired mine (sold) by drilling small holes either side of the split and bridging the split with a small strip of thin aluminium screwed to the ring into those holes with a self tapper screws.
