Best flooring option for studio?

I'm moving into a new space with a nice 30'x30' room that I plan on turning into my studio.  The flooring is currently carpet on a raised wooden crawlspace but I plan to remove the carpet and install something that will be classy, easy to clean, and fairly resistant to abuse from light stands and heavy gear.

I plan on installing a cyclorama wall on at least 1 if not 2 of the walls but this has me wondering what sort of flooring should I install if I have to paint some of the extending floor white to blend in with the seamless.

My initial thought was installing dark engineered wood floors because they would look really awesome with white walls and give a clean upscale appearance.  I don't know if you can paint these floors white and ever remove the paint down the road or if this would be bad decision in general.

The other thought was some sort of stone or thin layer of concrete that might make removing the paint easier down the road.  Obviously the grout between tiles and stones could be problematic for seamless paper if I ever set that up instead of the cyc.  Also it might not be smooth for rolling c stands and other rolling gear.

Another idea is maybe there is some sort of board or flooring I could place down on top of the finished floors that would blend in well enough with the seamless cyc wall that I could repaint over and over without actually painting the new floor.  I will be shooting video in this space too so by "blending in" it has to be good enough not to need retouching in post (in the case of video).

The budget on this floor is probably around $3k and this is my first renovation/studio project ever so I don't want to make a bad decision right off the bat.  Any thoughts?
