Well, like many others who post here more often than I do, I'm not of outstanding intelligence!
If I sat behind my D3s, on a tripod, and clicked every half minute, I'd expect each exposure to get an incrementing number, and for my shutter count to be close enough in step with file numbering (I've discovered that if I do any in-camera editing, the file number increments, but the shutter count doesn't).
Here the OP has set interval exposures over a longish period, and produced a movie, but although the shutter count DID (perfectly reasonably) increment, the file numbers didn't. I find that interesting, and I'm obliged to the OP.
