Sorry, just venting.  My 70-400 developed a little looseness in the housing piece closest to the mount.  So I called Sony Laredo, and before I could even tell them the problem I was having, the nice drone lady told me it would be $458 to repair. What! says I, you don't even know what is wrong with it.  Well, it's a flat fee says she. That's ridiculous says I.  That's our policy says she. So when did saying that something "is our policy" become a justification or even an explanation? So, being a dentist, I ask her this hypothetical question.  Say, I am the only dentist in 1000 miles, and you call my office for an appointment and my receptionist says, that will be $900.  For a cleaning!!!  Sorry, that's our policy.  Would you accept that?  Would anybody accept that? Is it your goal to pi$$ off all your customers/patients? Dead air......for a few seconds then " you can go to our web page and send in a complaint"  Right...that'll get their attention.

Now, I can afford the cost (Though it's probably 1/3 the value of the lens at this point), but that's not the point.  This flat fee policy is offensive and their "don't give a $hit that you're unhappy" policy is offensive as well.

No response is required.  As I said, just venting
