I recently found a Sigma 75-200 f2.8-3.5 that works great on my a77. It does not seem to have an issue with the fast af speed of the a77. However my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX DG Macro just got its plastic gears stripped while I was calibrating the af microadjust on that lens. I talked to a Sigma repair man who told me that one of the gears around the barrel is plastic and that after the lens is fixed I should use it on the "slow" af setting instead of the "fast" setting. Now I need to decide if I fix it for $150ish + shipping, or try to sell it on ebay as a MF lens only that could be fixed if wanted. They go for about $400 on ebay.

So THAT'S what happened to my Sigma! I had a 70-300 APO that I used on my A35 for about a year and a half....no compatibility issues whatsoever until I popped it on one morning and made the most hellish grinding noise you'd ever want to hear. So much for that, I guess...oh well, I only paid 50$ for it, so it's definitely not worth fixing.
