I have the Sigma 19mm and the 18-55 kit along with the Sony 50mm OSS...

I use the Sigma 19mm for my main landscape lens.. It does a great job and I typically shoot it at f/8 to get great edge to edge detail.... You can use your kit lens for the kids..

As much as I know the Sigma 30mm is a great lens, I would never think to use it for landscape.

That being said, having something close to a 50mm equivalent would be nice to have in a prime. But again, the 19mm Sigma is great landscape lens for the money. The pictures say enough.

Those are very beautiful, Vaughn. Did you use a polarizer in the b&w?

No polarizer for any of my shots... I do always have a high end UV filter threaded on my lenses mainly for protection.. I have the color and the baclk and white version in my gallery. You can see what I started with from color. The black and white version seems to be what everyone likes.. Already sold a few prints.
