Nikon 5100, trying to fill a void with a len
I bought the 5100 about a month ago and I've been taking pictures like a mad man and loving the control and quality of the camera. I started with the kit len and realized from the start the limitaions of the lens. I decided to buy the 35mm F/1.8 af-s prime lens and it filled a MASSIVE gap. I'm able to take low light pictures and create great bokeh. I recently went on a hike around an island and the F/1.8 really struggled on the distance pictures. I knew the lens would but for some reason I thought it would do better. With that said I'm wondering if a 55-200 or 55-300 len would fill the gap on distant objects. And would there be any other types of lens I'd need? I haven't really had a desire to do action pictures or pictures of massive sceneries.
