I just sent my F3 to Texas for warranty work and you have to pay the postage to get it there. I sent it UPS ground, it cost 18.00 dollars which included the insurance. It is on its way back by Fedex and the repair outfit paid the shipping. Make sure you pack it real good with at leasr 2 inches of packing materials all around the camera. You dont need to send the charger or memory card.

There is no charge for sending your warranty repairs to Sony within the US.  Sony will email a Fedex label and the shipping is paid by them.  At least that has been my experience.
