What a pleasant surprise!!!

Nikon announced a significant new addition to their lens lineup today. Each such release seems to trigger an avalanche of posts stating Canon's version sucks, isn't as good, lags behind, Canon is doomed, etc. So I ventured into the Canon SLR Lens Talk forum today with trepidation.
But not a word about it. Nice.
Though just making this observation might open the floodgates.
