My questions to you are:

  1. Do you think there is enough of a market for Sony to consider making a new "Beercan" that will fill within their current telephoto zoom lineup?
  2. Do you think Sony might already be making one? (I know, rumors...)
  3. Would you buy one if made available?
  4. What is a realistic price target you think would suit this lens properly?

Thanks!

1. I don't think so. If there was a big demand, wouldn't Sigma, Tamron, Tokina make one? Sigma and Tamron make 70-200mm f2.8's.

2. I doubt it. A FF 24-105mm or 24-120mm would me more in demand and they haven't released that yet.

3. No. I lose less than a stop with my 70-300mm G (4.5-5.6) and I get more reach.

4. If it came from Sony, it would beĀ $999. For that, there are f2.8 options.
