Nice, how did you like the flash? I've been thinking about using my Fuji for similar events, right now I use the d7000 but I might invest in that flash if it works well enough. I mainly bounce flash, does that work okay? I am fine using ISO 3200 or maybe 6400..

To be honest, it was pretty hard to tell given the conditions. The ceilings were probably 60 or 70 feet high so any bounce effect was always going to be minimal. Generally I felt the flash output might have been a little less consistent that I find with the Canon, but not drastically so.

Despite being a bit flimsy compared to my Canon, the EF42 seemed to perform OK on the night. The only main annoyance was adjusting the output, which seems to be either on the flash itself or diving through multiple menu levels on the camera. There might be a way of shortcutting the process but if there is I haven't found it yet.
