1980s Press/Pro Photographers load out?

Not DP related, but I just picked up a Nikon F3P on a whim and was curious, back in the 1980s, what was the typical load out (pre 24-70/70-200 F2.8 combo)?

Some sort of wide prime and tele zoom?

I've seen plenty of battle scarred 35 F1.4 and a 180 F2.8 lenses on ebay...
