Best camera for mom under $300

Mom is looking for a new camera that is simple to use and has a wide angle zoom. She will be taking lnadscape and people pictures. It's been a while since I have looked into cameras and really don't know whats new. I really like my Finepix F20 and think this would be an EZ camera for mom even though it dosent have a wide zoom. I'm not willing to give it up just yet. What's the new equivalent to my old F20?
