I had an A610 whose mass was mostly accounted for by the 4 AA batteries which gave it a very good battery life. I was happily using it until it developed a sticky shutter beyond economic repair, so after some agonizing I bought a slightly used second hand G11 (with a proprietary battery) which I am happy with and also with the battery life.
