Focusing with adapted manual lens on X-Pro1 and X-E1
Oct 22, 2012

For some time I've been considering X-Pro 1 as my next camera. The only thing that still concerns me is manual focus experience with adapted lenses. It would be nice to re-use all the m42 lenses I have. As far as reviews go there is no focus peeking of any kind and the only way to focus is to use EVF with 3x and 10x zoom to confirm that image is sharp. Is this good enough from practical stand point?

Another question is whether X-Pro 1 worth it compared to X-E1 if it will be used with manual lenses a lot. For me there doesn't seem any significant drawbacks of X-E1 except for OVF which must be nice with native lenses. Is there anything else I'll miss if I get X-E1?

Thanks for feedback,
