Colour changes in LR4

Fairly new to Lightroom and only scratching the tip of it's capabilities. Mostly get along OK with it but been having some frustrations with colour changes in the last few days.

I take a lot of sailing pics and the reds get changed a lot. Examples below, focus on the colour of the crew's red clothing. The OOC jpeg is realistic. The LR4 starting piont has changed the hue and even playing with the red & orange sliders I struggle to get it back to a realistic colour. This matters more when entire sails are red e.g. spinnakers.

Another example of a singer at a band I was trying to shoot. I'm not v experienced at nightime/flash photography and I found the going really tough especially with changing stage lights (red/blue/green). When I imported the image (below) into LR it changed the colour of her arm and also generated horrible pixelation which I couldn't remove. Basically, LR trashed this picture even if all I did was import RAW, crop and export to jpeg. so I could only use the OOC jpeg.

How do I set things such that as a starting point the RAW file I'm viewing on LR is closer to the OOC jpeg? And how do I avoid LR doing things like trashing the singer's pic?

OOC (red is authentic)

LR export (red is off, much too pink)

OOC (blue stage lighting but OK-ish)

LR export (image is trashed, check out her arms and face).
