As pointed out before, this

works perfect. Shure, maybe takes 2minutes more to install, as other programs, but is as simple and small as a program should be. And is really FAST in the explorer. (for DNG only)

Adobe's DNG codec seems to work fine. It is Microsoft's codec that conflicted with Microsoft's photo viewer.

I only tested it with PEF-files.

The Microsoft Camera Codec Pack provides support for the following device formats:

Pentax (PEF formats only): *ist D, *ist DL, *ist DS, K10D, K20D, K100D, K100D Super, K110D, K200D, K-5, K-7, K-r, K-x

I just installed it and it works with my PEF-Files from Pentax K-5 on Windows 7 64-bit

It also shows all the O-GPS1-Data (number of satellites, latitude, longitude, height above zero, direction,...)

I installed this (Windows 7, 64 bit), and it caused Windows Photo Viewer to stop working. The screen just displayed garbage. I went back through System Restore and Photo Viewer now works again.

Way to go, Microsoft.
