Auto brightness control with Spyder3 and HP LP2275w?

Hi Guys! I hope someone could jump in with an idea or advice?

I am using HP LP2275w display for work. Display is fantastic, but my environment isn't. As the conditions change, I have to constantly change brightness to get good image quality, which gets quite annoying.

Now, the display has brightness control through software, and my calibrator --Spyder3 can (and constantly does) measure light ambient level, I thought it possible to automatically control display brightnes by pairing the two.

Did anyone implemented something like this, or maybe know of a solution (that does not necessarily involve buying a new monitor)?
