I use this lens with D700 and D4. On recent trip to Grand Manan, NB and Acadia Park,ME I found this lens to be the one usually on the camera.

Just keep in mind that the distortion correction is an asymmetric crop and some of the image is obscured, that is, you are no longer really at 16mm. (Using LR4.2)
