It seems that NIK silver efex pro 2 is used a lot but it costs $199

Is there a good program that is less expensive or is it better to go with NIK?

thanks

Go with Nik. I've tried the others and Nik is the best software I have ever used. I use all of their products and find them powerful or simple it is up to you; they are a company that educates the customer via nice tutorial videos and they stand behind their product.
