Is Canon 430 ex II safe to Panasonic LX3

I just try my Panasonic LX3 with speedlite 430 exII and it works, but whenever fired there is sound like electricity circuit which I am not sure where it come (flash head or hotsoe), so I guess it is safer to ask you guys prior to use again this combo, is it safe to use this combo????
