Lot's of critics of Canon DSLR sensors these days, any photo proof to support this?

I posted an image to this thread here. Wont be to everyone's taste but from a technical POV that scene had a massive amount of DR - even after exposing the sky right at clipping I still needed to push the shadows 5-6EVs, if memory serves. Based on my previous Canon vs Nikon DR comparisons I know the Canon would not have held up that well, esp. at full print size (I enabled viewing of the full 16MP images at that link)
